Treatments: pyrimethamine, Spiramycin and Sulfadiazine is used to treat toxoplasmosis mainly because they work by killing parasites found throughout the body.
Programmes are in place to prevent spread by checking cats with the parasite and warning people to their cats checked.
Histoplasmosis:
What is it? Histoplasmosis is an infection that can be fatal if spread throughout the body, it is mainly found inside bird and bat droppings. It can cause chronic lung disease. The fungus grows in soil contaminated with bird or bat droppings. Breathing in the spores can and will lead to infection.
Treatment: itraconazole is mainly used to treat Histoplasmosis because of its ability to fight fungi caused infections. Programmes are in place to help prevent these by teaching people the dangers of these diseases.
Tuberculosis:
What is it? Is an infection caused by a bacteria which affects the lungs usually caught and spread from person to person.
Treatment: Rifampicin is just one of a few different medicines used to treat tuberculosis because it can fight and kill bacteria through the body. Programmes are usually set up to contain people with the disease and treat them before letting them out to spread the infection. Like how the mumps are contained.

Treatment: Antibiotics are usually used to treat anthrax like penicillin however vaccines are best used to help prevent the disease. Programmes are in place to stop to contact of infected animals and humans and these programmes persuade people to get vaccines
Malaria:
What is it? Malaria is a high infectious disease that is caused by the bite of an infected mosquito. Mosquitos are the biggest killers of people per year averaging around 750,000 people per year.
Treatment: There is a long list of medication used to treat people who have the disease some examples are quinine, Chloroquine, Mefloquine these treatments are used for their ability to fight and kill parasites.
Roll back malaria is a organisation that that wanted to half the worlds malaria cases by the year 2010 however it was unsuccessful.
The organisation was formed in 1998 and so far has not achieved its goal, however it has decreased the amount of deaths in the most affected countries mainly throughout Africa and Asia.
Some countries where freshwater is harder to come there is much higher levels of infections, this is because a lot of people drink whatever water the can find and most pounds and lakes are filled with animal waste and a lot of animal waste has bacteria like Campylobacter which is in the water that children drink and then they get the disease and die. However many organisations in the US and the UK are set in finding ways to help end the water crisis and provide pumps too help people get fresh water. The great thing about this, is the water when pumped will have no dirty bacteria that causes infections. So when these organisations went out and installed pumps the number of infection deaths went down because the people were drinking fresh water instead of water filled with infection causing bacteria.
